Walmart to host anti-Prime Day sale from July 8-13

Walmart will give Amazon a bigger run for its money during Prime Day this year: The retailer’s Walmart Deals summer savings event returns from July 8 to 13, with early access beginning the night of July 7. The sale will be two days longer than Prime Day 2025, which is scheduled for July 8 to 11 (making it the longest Prime Day ever). It’ll also be twice as long as last year’s Walmart Deals event, which ran for three days the week before Prime Day 2024.

Customers will be able to shop Walmart Deals in person and online, which is a first. According to a company press release, the sale will begin on Walmart.com/deals at 12 a.m. ET on Tuesday, July 8, before kicking off in Walmart stores that same day at local opening times (usually 6 a.m.). Walmart+ members will get early online access to the offers before everyone else on Monday, July 7 at 7 p.m. ET — a five-hour head start.

While Walmart offers a free 30-day trial of Walmart+, its early-access period for this week’s sale is only open to paid members. Those who haven’t signed up already can save 50% on their first year of an annual Walmart+ membership through July 15, paying $49 instead of $98. It unlocks additional perks like free shipping, fuel discounts, and a bonus Paramount+ Essential subscription. (The latter is worth $59.99 per year on its own.)

Walmart Deals will cover “tech upgrades to dorm-ready must-haves, school supplies to self-care staples,” said the press release, which teased “big names like Samsung, Vizio, Dyson, [and] Sharpie.” Some of its top deals will include the following:

• Vizio 50-inch QLED Smart TV — $238 $298 (save $60)

• Samsung 32-inch Smart Monitor — $199 $299.99 (save $100.99)

• Dyson V7 Advanced Cordless Vacuum Cleaner — $229.99 $399.99 (save $170)

• Crayola Crayons (24-Count ) — $0.50 $1.44 (save $0.94)

• Sharpie Permanent Markers (24-Count ) — $14.97 $19.55 (save $4.58)

• Paper Mate InkJoy Pens (14-Count) — $14.97 $23.38 (save $8.41)

Walmart joins Best Buy and Target in hosting summer sales that compete with Amazon’s Prime Day deals. Best Buy is holding a weeklong “Black Friday in July” sale from July 7 to 13, and Target is running a seven-day Circle Week event from July 6 to 12.
