Lithosphere is entering its next phase.
With the recent launch of Thanos.fi, the self-custody multi-chain wallet built around the Lithosphere ecosystem, we are moving closer to the upcoming LITHO TGE and a much broader rollout of the Lithosphere network.
But shipping products is only part of the work.
Over the past several months, the blockchain industry has again been reminded that Layer 1 security cannot be treated as finished infrastructure.
Harmony recently suffered a major exploit involving forged ONE supply and transaction reuse, ultimately forcing the network toward a pre-attack rollback.
Syscoin disclosed a bridge exploit caused by a cross-layer interpretation mismatch between Syscoin Core and its NEVM relay, where the same payload could effectively be interpreted differently across system components.
Sui experienced three mainnet halts in May following an upgrade, with failures involving gas-accounting crash bugs and a separate validator randomness-state issue exposed during restarts.
These incidents reinforce something we have believed from the beginning:
A next-generation Layer 1 cannot simply optimize for TPS. It must be designed for deterministic execution, cryptographic agility, fault containment, safe upgrades, canonical cross-layer state interpretation and long-term security.
That is why we are expanding the Lithosphere security architecture ahead of TGE.
Post-Quantum Security
Lithosphere is being designed to progressively support post-quantum cryptography at the protocol level, not simply as an optional wallet feature.
Our PQ architecture is being built around:
• ML-DSA for post-quantum transaction, account and validator authentication
• SLH-DSA for independent hash-based recovery and high-security root authorization
• ML-KEM for future quantum-resistant node and validator communication
• Hybrid classical + post-quantum authorization during migration
• Algorithm versioning and a protocol-level CryptoRegistry
• PQ-aware validator identities
• Quantum-resistant governance, treasury and bridge authorization
• Account migration from classical → hybrid → PQ-only security
The objective is crypto agility.
Lithosphere should never depend permanently on one cryptographic primitive.
Algorithms must be capable of being introduced, upgraded, deprecated and replaced without redesigning the entire chain.
LithoVM Security Upgrades
Post-quantum security is also being pushed directly into LithoVM.
Rather than requiring developers to implement complex cryptographic algorithms inside smart contracts, LithoVM is being designed around deterministic native cryptographic verification.
Planned capabilities include:
MLDSA_VERIFY
SLHDSA_VERIFY
HYBRID_VERIFY
along with strict canonical serialization, algorithm versioning and consensus-pinned implementations.
The rule is simple:
Every validator must derive exactly the same interpretation and exactly the same verification result from the same data.
Ambiguous encodings should fail closed.
Unknown algorithms should fail closed.
Duplicate or malformed cryptographic objects should fail closed.
And a single authenticated cross-domain event should never be executable twice.
Lithic Goes Post-Quantum
Because Lithic compiles directly into LithoVM, we have an opportunity to make quantum-resistant security a first-class feature of the programming language itself.
We are designing Lithic around concepts such as:

signature<ml_dsa_65>
Hybrid authorization policies.
Post-quantum smart accounts.
Quantum-safe contract profiles.
PQ-secured treasury contracts.
PQ-secured autonomous agents.
And eventually annotations allowing developers to explicitly define contracts requiring post-quantum authorization.
This means:
Lithic expresses the security policy.
LithoVM deterministically executes it.
Lithosphere consensus enforces it.
Stronger Cross-Layer and Bridge Security
Recent exploits have also demonstrated the danger of two components interpreting the same transaction differently.
Lithosphere’s architecture is therefore being hardened around several critical invariants:
One message → one canonical interpretation.
One authenticated receipt → at most one execution.
One mint or credit → a provable corresponding source event.
Cross-chain and cross-VM messaging must use canonical message IDs, strict replay protection, domain-separated signatures and atomic consume-and-execute semantics.
A bridge, VM, relay or parser disagreement should never become a mechanism for creating assets.
Safer Chain Upgrades
Chain halts are another area we are taking seriously.
Lithosphere’s upgrade framework is being designed around:
• deterministic state transitions
• activation heights
• reproducible builds
• cross-platform consensus testing
• validator restart simulations
• differential execution tests
• adversarial upgrade testing
• malformed transaction fuzzing
• partial-upgrade scenarios
• block propagation benchmarking
• rollback and emergency crypto-deprecation procedures
Makalu remains extremely important to this process.
We would rather attack these assumptions aggressively on testnet than discover them under real economic load.
Thanos Is the User Layer
The recently launched Thanos.fi is becoming a major access point for this architecture.
Thanos currently provides a self-custody wallet experience around Lithosphere, Bitcoin and EVM networks, with the keys remaining under the user’s control.
Over time, Thanos is intended to become a reference implementation for:
PQ-secured Lithosphere accounts.
Hybrid authentication.
Agent permissions.
Session keys.
Spending policies.
Validator staking.
Cross-chain assets.
Autonomous-agent transactions.
And migration toward post-quantum account security.
And Next: LITHO TGE
The upcoming LITHO TGE represents much more than the launch of another network asset.
It is the beginning of the economic layer behind an infrastructure stack we have spent years building toward.
